Tired Of Waxing And Shaving?

Written by

Laser Hair Removal | Body Silk Clinic, London

How fond of waxing and shaving are men? Not at all.

How many times any of you wished you no longer had to shave, pluck or wax unwanted hair?

It can be every 2 or 3 days, sometimes even every day. And we know...it can be veeery frustrating. Not just because it is time consuming. Shaving and waxing can also irritate skin and cause uncomfortable pimples on your face, neck, chest, back and shoulders. Shaving yourself on the back, for instance, cannot guarantee perfect results and you can end up having patchy left behind. The back is especially difficult to take care of by yourself. Laser hair removal solves this problem. This is why the most popular laser treatments are for back and chest, followed by the face area treated for unwanted hair.

With Diode Lightsheer Laser Machine our male clients can rest assured to get the best results possible; we usually recommend a course of 4 sessions for a permanent effect. We always test your suitability for any of our laser treatments with a Patch Test.

Endermologie Cellulite| Body Silk Clinic, London

Summer is coming..!

It is a common belief that being overweight is the main cause of cellulite. This is absolutely false! Even skinny people can suffer from Celluite. Diet, genetics and age can play a major role in causing the condition that affects 85% of women today.

Drinking plenty of water, exercising and following a balanced diet are crucial to combat cellulite effectively. However, it could be still not enough... Stabborn fat clogged in the deep tissue, can be difficult to melt. This is where you may need to think about one of the most powerful boosters - Endermologie - to achieve your cellulite-free results. Depending on how severe your cellulite is and where you suffer from it at most, an Endermologie specialist would determine your bespoke treatment plan. You may be pleased to see immediate improvements after only one treatment, but bear in mind that your fat tissue as well as your muscles have memory, so you'd better adhere to your treatment plan and complete it in full to make sure that you 'train' your tissue during your Endermologie course 'to remember' the way you want your tissue to function long term.

If you are thinking about something more drastic, such as surgical liposuction, your surgeon may refer you to have a few Endermologie sessions to prepare your body for the surgery or, if you already had liposuction, he may prescribe you Endermologie post-liposuction course to make sure that your body gets rid of unwanted post-surgery liquid in the tissue quicker to eliminate the risk of the related complications.

Consult an Endermologie specialist to see if Endermologie is right for you.

Have you had Endermologie before or know other effective ways to fight cellulite? Please, comment! We'd love to hear about your experience!

Wrinkles around the eyes and frown lines are often a result of stress, smoking and environmental damage. But a number of bad every day habits can equallly contribute to a tired and older look. We have identified 3 common ones that a lot of people have. If you are someone who is worried about the wrinkles about your eyes to become more prominent, you should stop:

1) skipping SPF every morning: the sun causes your skin to age, because it activates free radicals. It is as simple as that. The skin around your eyes is thinner than anywhere else on the body, so it is more vulnerable to ageing. Choose a good SPF product to use and make sure that you do not leave the house without your SPF on. Obagi SunShield and a range of Heliocare sun blocks are worth looking at. Combined with the Obagi Professional-C Serums, which we consider as the best antioxidant we have tested so far, a small amount of SPF every morning will make a huge difference to the way your skin looks.

2) sleeping on your tummy: when you sleep with your face down, one side of it is resting on the pillow and is squished for a long time at night. By constant squishing your face that way, you cause your skin to crease that can eventually turn into wrinkly tissue. Did you notice those sleep lines in the morning? Start falling asleep on your back from tonight!

3) rubbing your eyes: chances are that you rub your eyes at least once a day. It is an instinct! It feels good to rub your eyes when you are tired or when your eyes are irritated, but it is a habit that you must end if you want to avoid looking older! The skin around the eyes is very thin, so when you rub it, you cause folds to form. You can consider fixing it with a Botox treatment, of course, but isn't it worth trying to pay more attention to eliminating a harmful habit first?

Surgical Facelift Vs Non-Invasive

Written by

Laser Hair Removal | Body Silk Clinic, London

Althought production of new collagen and hyaluronic acid slows down from the age of 26, face wrinkles in most cases start bothering our patients from 34 onwards. Fortunately, these days cosmetic industry offers a number of effective non-invasive options to wake up 'sleeping' fibroblasts - the cells in our skin tissue responsible for production of three 'ingredients of youth' - collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

One of these non-invasive treatments is LPG Facelift that is specifically designed to stimulate fibrolasts' 'workout' and keep them 'awake'.

Lpg Facelift treatment provides multi-dimensional stimulation on the skin’s surface for intense physiological awakening: as if their youth has been restored, the stimulated fibroblasts operate from within to produce a true metamorphosis of the skin.

Fast and efficient, the Lpg treatment is part of a healthy lifestyle too through the ability to make the lymphatic system detox. A course of 10 sessions is recommended for long-term results.

Pulling, plucking, shaving and waxing hair - is it safe to say that women go to great lengths to stay smooth and hair-free? Not always. Modern men show a lot more interest in their appearance and do worry about how to look their best, including the issues related to unwanted hair. Excess hair in men can be caused by high testosterone levels but it can also be caused by genes, age and ethnicity. Waxing still remains very popular amongst men's hair removal choices. However, it can be associated with regular painful visits to a grooming salon and gets pricy in the long run. This is when men may think of a laser hair removal option. And although, it may seem to look one step too far at first, in reality, there is no reason why men should not get the same long-lasting, no-hassle benefits as their female counterparts. Laser hair removal really works nicely for men's unwanted hair, provided they choose the right laser for their hair removal. If you want to know which laser is the best to help you get rid of unwanted hair permanently, you should check out this video.

Hormonal hair growth, especially on the face, is not limited to just PCOS but also to adrenal problems, thyroid disorders and more. Females with hormonal imbalance will often have hirsuitism involving the upper lip, chin, neck, stomach, breasts, and stomach. Most of the women with this condition can experience lack of confidence and depression during their life.

“I spend half an hour every morning plucking out hairs from my face, otherwise I can’t bear to let anyone see me.” (Christine, 31)

“No-one understands what I’m going through. All my confidence has gone and I can’t see any way out.” (Laura, 27)

Laser hair removal can help reduce unwanted hair. If done regularly it can keep hair growth under control; instead of waxing and tweezing can be very affective for weeks or even months.

**At Body Silk, as a Pcos client you can get 20% discount for each session of laser hair removal.

Water Retention In Summer

Written by

Laser Hair Removal | Body Silk Clinic, London

Water retention in the summer months can be caused by heat, alcohol consumption on holidays and during flying. When fluid accumulates abnormally throughout the body, it is known as water retention. The human body, as solid as it may seem, is mostly comprised of water in the blood, tissues and even muscles. If you suffer from water retention, keep in mind the following food to help you fight it: celery, watermelon and parsley. These foods are considered as natural diuretics that you can enjoy eating in small amounts to help you reduce the water hoarding that your body is engaging in.

If you suffer from body water retention, you can really benefit from Lymphatic drainage by LPG Endermologie. Face water retention is very effectively treated by LPG Liftmassage.

What Eyes Can Tell About Age

Written by

Laser Hair Removal | Body Silk Clinic, London

The eyes are aesthetic centre of the face and are often referred to as the "window to the soul".

The outer corners of the eyes and undereye area are the areas where we can often see the first signs of ageing - fine lines, the appearance of dull skin. The most common request for rejuvenation in aesthetic practices is about this particular area of concern. Other complaints include excess skin, wrinkles, puffiness around the eyes, pigmentation issues and dark circles. With age these problems can become more and more prominent.

To strengthen the tissues under the eyes and help fight against the visible signs of ageing, LPG Facelift at Body Silk Clinic in London, offers a simple but effective solution - a skin 'workout' that tones, strengthens and rejuvenates the area under the eyes as well as facial skin.

Acne Scars Are Not A Punishment

Written by

Laser Hair Removal | Body Silk Clinic, London

Acne scars can be distressing and stigmatising, especially when on the face. Acne scars occur when pustules turn into nodules and cysts. Scarring is the result of skin damage during the healing of active acne. This process produces two typical scar types: atrophic and hypertophic scars depending on wheather there is a gain or loss of collagen in the healing process. The damage caused initially by inflammation of a blocked sebaceous gland causes blanching and vasoconstriction (narrowing of the blood vessels).

At Body Silk we offer Dermal Roller that employs advanced medical micro-needling. It is a procedure that stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally, thereby creating smoother, healthier, clearer younger-looking skin with acned scars disappearing.
