The Dermaroller medical device is a novel treatment that has been proven effective for the following problems:
- Acne scars
- Aged and sun-damaged skin
- Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks
- Pale and atrophic scars
- Scalp treatment - Hair growth
The Dermaroller is a single-use medical device available only from trained practitioners. This treatment employs advanced medical micro-needling, a procedure which stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally, thereby creating smoother, healthier, clearer younger-looking skin.
After an initial consultation with your practitioner, if it is agreed that you will benefit from this treatment, local anesthetic is applied to the affected area so as to numb it and is allowed to work over the course of 30 minutes. The actual dermaroller procedure takes 20-30 minutes and is virtually painless. During your derma roller treatment courses, an ampoule containing a cocktail of 92 ingredients with different vitamins and anti-oxidants will be rolled in deep into your skin to boost the rejuvenation effect. Following the treatment, a soothing cream is applied and should be continued to be applied at home for the next couple of days.
For the fist 24 hours post-procedure, the affected area will look red and may be slightly swollen (very similar to the appearance of mild sunburn). This is a normal expected result and it is not painful.
Although significant results are often seen following the first treatment, your practitioner with generally recommend between 3 to 6 treatments for optimum and long-lasting effects.
Dermaroller's effect can be dramattically boosted if combined with Obagi Nu-Derm system due to the enhanced skin preparation by Obagi Nu-Derm for deeper penetration of the skin by Dermaroller. Our Obagi Nu-Derm patients are eligible for a 50% discount towards their Dermaroller course of treatments.
It is recommended to use Professional Vitamin C Serum every morning before and after Dermaroller sessions.
